Microscopic Reversibility

When Lavelle said “microscopic reversibility is being assumed” in regards to the rate constants, k and k’, what does he mean?

I think this means that you can assume that the reaction has the same intermediates (same pathway) in the forward and reverse directions.

He means that the forward and reverse rxns follow the same pathway, this is assumed in order to say k/k’ =K.
