Does temperature affect A?

Does temperature affect the frequency factor A? If so, how?

In terms of the actual equation, we see that k = Ae^(-Ea/RT)

Strictly speaking, A is slightly variable with temperature, but it is negligible.

I think it is okay to regard A as more of a constant.

Technically yes, but very little so you can consider it constant across small temperature ranges

i know that increasing A and T will increase K, but i don't think we'd actually to worry about that for A since in most problems its omitted(like a difference problem)/given to us as a constant

A represents the probability that colliding molecules will actually form a transition state and turn into product. Specifically, it describes how many reactants will be in the correct orientation to form a transition state. When T increases, molecules have more KE and will move more, so A should technically increase due to the additional movement. However, we never really discussed this so I think A is constant for us.

Wouldn't A just be the constant given. It might change if we see a change in a temperature given but not too much.

I think that it does very slightly in real life, but for our calculations I think we just treat A as constant because it's close enough.

I think in general it has a small effect (so conceptually yes) but in reality it is pretty negligible and can be disregarded.

In many of the problems we solve, we can factor out A and not have to use it. Temperature does have a small effect on A but this effect is almost completely negligible.
