Enzymes maintain activity under oxidative stress by employing antioxidant defenses that neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS). They also possess structural stability features such as disulfide bonds or metal cofactors to withstand oxidative damage. Additionally, enzymes may have built-in repair mechanisms or assistance from chaperone proteins to refold or remove damaged portions, ensuring their functionality even in the presence of oxidative conditions.

Enzymes maintain activity under oxidative stress conditions by using antioxidant defense mechanisms which neutralize reactive oxygen species, repairing oxidative damage to molecules, and regulating enzyme activity during stress.
