0 order/higher rxn orders

Postby William Chen 2K » Fri Mar 08, 2024 12:18 pm

Are there any applications of zero order reactions (or reaction orders higher than 2) in a biological context?

Yes, I believe there are applications of zero order reactions or reaction orders higher than 2 in a biological context. For example, there could be enzymatic reactions that occur at a rate independent of substrate/reaction concentrations, which would mean that the reaction is a zero order reaction.
