I enjoy this thread because I am a lot more interested in what we're learning when I can see it applied to current problems. This article is about a discovery that has increased the efficiency of ferroelectric crystals by alter what compounds surround them and how they are placed for solar power plants. The absorption of energy and emitting of electrons takes place.

Found this article on Nature about finding new approaches to use different energy sources to charge electrochemical cells. I honestly didn't understand most of it but it made me think a little bit about using electrochemistry to generate green electricity and what that might look like.

Simply Orange Juice is facing a Lawsuit because their All Natural juice has forever chemicals (PFAS) in it. I am in a lab that focuses on removing these chemicals from wastewater and they are very difficult to break down since they have very stable C-F bonds, hence the forever name.

Re: Chemistry News
I know that the final is over now, but that doesn't mean chemistry isn't still part of our lives! Some of us may encounter it in our careers. I want to go into sustainability, and I wanted to share this cool article about gas that relates to catalysts, which we learned this quarter! It is so cool to relate what we are learning to the real world, especially to what we are interested in doing career-wise.
