Miderm Review

Outside of the review sessions, does Lavelle offer any study guides or practice tests prior to the midterm?

There should be some practice assignments on Sapling Learning, other than that I am not sure of other resources.

I am not sure if they have any, but you could try making a same-day appointment at the test bank and seeing if there are any old exams you could review.

I am not sure if Dr. Lavelle directly gives study guides, but at the Workshops the UAs give worksheets that go over the concepts. I think these are very helpful, especially to review for the midterm!

Outside of the review sessions, I don't think he gives study guides out. He sent out an Email that he created multiple additional assignments and learning objectives for those who need additional assistance on Sapling Learning.

Do I have to pay for Sapling? The website says I have to pay $64 to enroll in the "Homework Course"

Did you buy the bundle? I believe if you bought the chemistry bundle in the beginning of the quarter I believe you would be able to access the course. If not, I assume you would have to pay $64 :(

Sapling Learning is a good resource to use other than the midterm review sessions. Doing all the recommended practice problems on the outlines is also really helpful.

I personally have not tried Sapling for myself yet, but I've heard some students are disappointed with what it offers. It's apparently just the same information you can find from the textbook and Dr. Lavelle's webpage.

Still open to anything though! I'll give it a look and update my post if I find anything noteworthy.

Alright. Thank You so much. I'm debating whether I should spend the $64 or not.

Personally I wouldn't spend $64 on it. There's also the test bank on campus! You can try there to see if they have any previous midterms for chem (which I'm pretty sure they do). Also try asking people who have taken the course previously to see if they have anything that's helpful. That's what I've been doing.
