Final Studying

Postby Andrea_Torres » Sun Dec 01, 2019 6:31 pm

I somewhat understand some of the concepts but applying them is what I find difficult. What would you guys suggest I do to help me study for the final exam?

For the final, try going to as much review sessions as possible that are focused on topics that you need the most help on. I recommend looking for some of the worksheets that the UAs make they're really helpful!

In addition to the review sessions, are there any specific videos or chemistry youtubers you would suggest watching who are good at teaching the more conceptual things?

The organic chemistry tutor is really good at explaining concepts.

Watching YouTube videos can help a lot, along with going to as many review sessions as possible. If you can I’d suggest going to workshops in Covel. The step-ups are also very helpful and they help you apply the concepts to actual problems.

Create your own worksheets! Take problems from the book and solve them. Go back and grade yourself and that way you can see where you need more practice/help.

I typically watch the organic chemistry tutor or khan academy depending on the topic.

I suggest attending the review sessions and doing the practice problems.

I would say look over any review sheets that were already given to us to refresh our memories on everything that we went over in the beginning. Also forming study groups with people helps a lot since everyone gets to help each other out. Also, if there are still some concepts that still don't make sense I'm pretty sure Lavelle can help during office hours.
