Vocabulary

Is there any vocabulary we should be familiar with for the final exam?

I'm sure knowing the key words in the textbook would help (ligand, Bronsted-Lowry Theory, Deprotonated, Conjugate Acid, Conjugate Base, etc.)

I would also throw in Arrhenius and Lewis acid-base theories just in case.

I feel like its helpful to know vocabulary Lavelle has highlighted in the lectures.

I think it would also be helpful to memorize the names of the equations that we learn!

Any vocab necessary for the exams you should come across in lecture or in doing the textbook problem. It maybe be helpful to review a few technical terms, however, to be certain you know what a question is asking about. For example, Lewis acids accept electrons and Lewis bases donate electrons. There will not be a section on the test that specifically test your knowledge of voacb though. I hope this helps.

Every concept that is related to the equations on the equations sheet are likely going to be on the exam. Whether it's using these equations or conceptually, it is probably good to study up on what those concepts mean, reflect, and why the equations explain the function. An example would be Schrodinger's Wave function, or what the Pauli Exclusion Principle is.
