Test Scored for Midterm 1

Postby NayeliPlayas_1L » Thu Oct 29, 2020 7:55 pm

Hi does anyone know if Dr.Lavelle mentioned when the test scores for midterm 1 will be released? When they are released, where could we check our scores?

I think midterm grades will be released after everyone has taken it! So I would expect them to be released Friday or later :)

I heard that they'll be released when the last discussion section is done taking it. I didn't hear it from Dr. Lavelle though so I could be wrong! My guess would be that you could find the score on CCLE under the midterm section.

Hello,
I asked this same question earlier and they said that we won't receive our midterm grades until the last chemistry discussion section has completed the test--so the scores should be released by the end of this week.

In our workshop, the TA said that the midterm was technically supposed to get graded after the last discussion section takes it on Friday, but he also told us to not be surprised if it takes a little longer!

My understanding is that no scores will be released until the completion of all discussion sections. This makes the most sense to refrain from any midterm discussion before everyone has had their fair attempt.

He said that he was doing some partial credit so that may take longer to figure out.

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knows if the questions get released with the test scores--or do we just get our scores back and don't get to see the test again?

I think he wants to review the scores and how the class performed, so not until everyone has taken it.

I think he said he would release it after he has everyone take it and can look over any errors! Probably after Friday :)

I've heard speculation that it might be later this evening after the last testing section at 3:00pm. Of course, no one knows for sure. Good luck :)

My TA said the Midterm grade will be announced next week.

I asked my TA after the test on zoom, and she said it takes some time to sort the questions out since there are different versions and partial credit, like the above post said, so it will probably come out next week.

hi!

I heard that there was an error found in one of the problems so it might take a bit longer to sort through everyone's tests.

I asked my TA about it and he explained that they will be released sometime this coming week. There some errors in the tests on a couple of versions and they want to fix it.

Does anyone know if we will find out during our discussion session itself what our grade is or by checking CCLE? I know that some grades for classes use CCLE to post grades....

So has anybody yet received their score for the midterm? Haven't all discussion sections taken it as of today?

I have not received my score yet and I don't think they are out currently, but they probably be released soon because all of the discussion classes have taken it. They might just be sorting out some testing issues.

No one really know when the scores are coming out. Most of us were told that the scores would come out after the discussions ended. However they may still be revising the test to see if there are any errors.

I do not think Dr. Lavelle has made an announcement yet regarding midterm test scores. But since we can get partial credit on some questions, I feel like it may take several days until all of the midterms are graded. Hope this helps!

Will we be able to go over the midterms to see what questions we got wrong and what the correct answers were?

How does partial credit work for this test?

I don't think that we will go over each problem one by one, but I am pretty sure TA's can answer questions related to specific problems that were on the midterm.

Although your final answer could be wrong, following the correct procedure can help you earn partial credit. Let's say you found the correct answer, but forgot to convert it into the units specified in the question; since you have applied the correct method you could still earn some points.

That is an interesting question considering there were no multiple answer questions. My guess, there probably won't be any partial credit this time around.

On the test instructions, it says that higher point questions (the 12 point ones I’m assuming) will have partial credit for some incorrect answers.

From what I remember, scores will be released once everyone has taken the exam and it has been reviewed to ensure there are no errors

My TA said that some incorrect answer choices will lead to partial credit because they show you were going in the right direction but did something specifically wrong.

I assume it would be this coming week, assuming that everybody has taken the midterm. My advice would be to just be out on the look through the week for the professors email.
