New Year Resolutions?
As this very... interesting year comes to an end, has anyone put any thought into what they want to achieve for the next year, whether it is academically, personally, etc? For example, I definitely want to really develop my study habits, but also take more time to journal and reflect on life to further develop my growth as a person. What about yall?

Re: New Year Resolutions?
I don't really have any specific goals in mind, but I just hope we get less of a fiesta than 2020 was.

Re: New Year Resolutions?
I want to develop my communication and scheduling skills, as these things are a lot more difficult in the era of COVID and as a college student.

Re: New Year Resolutions?
My new year's resolution is to grow and be like a bottle of water. I'm usually like a soda, everything around me causes a reaction, but water can be shaken and thrown and it is still calm. So it is my new year's resolution to stay calm even when the world around me seems chaotic.

Re: New Year Resolutions?
I've been having a rough time staying at home for freshman year especially since there was so much anticipation for college as highschoolers. My new years resolution is to find happiness is smaller things!

I think I kind of want to improve my scheduling skills when it comes to planning when I do my homework for all of my classes

Re: New Year Resolutions?
I want to work on becoming more focused on academics, specifically finding the motivation to be interested in school. Being outside of the classroom definitely has had a negative affect on my participation with my school work.
outside of academics I also want to begin a healthier lifestyle including my diet and workout habits.

Re: New Year Resolutions?
I think a big one is to stay on top of/ahead in my work and focus on a healthy lifestyle. It’s really easy to get lazy especially being at home, so I need to be as active as possible both mind and body.

My goal is to not procrastinate all of my recorded lectures, and to instead watch them as they are released.

Re: New Year Resolutions?
Honestly one of my resolutions is doing more studying for this class because I didn't do so hot during fall quarter on the final. Other resolutions I have is maybe making more friends in my classes because freshman year is supposed to be all about making friends and stuff.

Well, my goals for this year is to get a better grade in this class than I did last quarter. Learning to cook better is also on the list too.

My goals this year are to get more involved in campus organizations and hopefully start applying to some summer internships! I'm also looking forward to spending more time on hobbies and doing things I enjoy.

My only resolution for this year is to put myself out there more and to put myself in situations I wouldn't normally be comfortable in to improve my confidence.

Just to stay more consistent in everything I do mostly, school, health, diet etc.

I want to exercise more! I've been very sedentary recently so I want to go outside and run more for instance.

Re: New Year Resolutions?
I have a few New Year's resolutions, one of them being that I want to keep up and connect with my friends and family more. Last quarter, I felt as if I was "too focused" on my academics, which led me to completely disregarding all of my other personal relationships. Also, Happy New Years, cheers to 2021!

Re: New Year Resolutions?
My resolution is to be more content. I don't always have to be happy because that is one extreme just like sadness. This sort of ties in with being at equilibrium, sometimes the balance will be tilted by life events but at the end I have to find my way to equilibrium (being content).

Re: New Year Resolutions?
Be more easy on myself. That being said, try to wakeup early everyday. Stay on top of my lectures, zoom calls. Maintain my time a bit better with a planner. Bike at least four times a week. Work hard, play hard :)

Hi! This is such a great question, and I loved reading what other people wrote. I want to become more confident, whether its with my classes, public speaking over Zoom, or just in general. I wish everyone good luck with their resolutions this year! :)

One of my biggest resolutions this year is to put more effort into passion projects of mine cause sometimes I get lost in schoolwork/job work which is not good for my mental health

Re: New Year Resolutions?
I want to focus on self care more. I used to be really hard on myself and it really stressed me out, I had anxiety constantly. This year I want to relax a tiny bit more so my mental health is better. So far it's going pretty well, my stress and anxiety levels have visibly decreased.

I want to be more organized and driven this year! I've found it really easy to slack off and use the pandemic as an excuse, but I'm hoping that I can actually succeed this year.

Re: New Year Resolutions?
One of my New Year resolutions was to start waking up earlier and so far, I'm doing better than I thought I would so that's a pretty good start! I also want to focus more on self-care because I have been stressed to the max these days, so I'm aiming to try out meditation.
Re: New Year Resolutions?
For once in my life, I would like to have some clarity on the idea of my career and my life ahead of me. Basically, this quarter will dictate how the rest of my life will be, and well this year alone will definitely change my life for the remainder of it. SO yeah not dark at all but very scary.
