STEM Clubs!

Postby Claire_Latendresse_1E » Thu Mar 11, 2021 5:04 pm

Hi, guys! I hope you're all doing well as we prepare for the final (oof).
I'm a first-year student who has never been on campus, so it's been tricky for me to learn about student organizations as UCLA. I would really love to join a club that has a medicine/health/community theme, but I don't even know where to begin. Does anyone have any clubs that they would recommend I check out?
Thank you :)

neuroscience undergrad is a good one! don't have to be a neuroscience major, it's really fun and informative overall! Recommend

Women in Science society started last year! They'll probably get going again when we're back in person.

Hi Claire! I am in AMWA and Rewritten, both of which are really great clubs! I've also wonderful things about UAEM, Medreach and AIM! I hope this helps :) Sending good vibes for your studies this weekend.

ICGS specializes in genetics and deals with research and presentations. You get to travel over your breaks and meet many medical professionals!

I'm in MedReach, and I love it! We do outreach to local high schools to educate students about future career opportunities in medicine! We also have a mentor/mentee program where we get to mentor high school students on class planning, college applications/decisions, choosing a major, volunteer opportunities, etc.! It's really rewarding :)
