Next quarter's schedules

Postby 405509920 » Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:31 pm

With enrollment appointments coming up later on this month I wonder if anyone is having trouble deciding on how intense their next quarter to be. I'm hoping to get all my major pre recs done by the time I start my third year, but in order to do that I would have to have a really intense schedule for the next three quarters. I plan on taking physics 5A, chem 14B, chem 14BL, and a stats class. Am I in over my head?

I think it would be tough to take three stem classes all at once and I would space them out just to avoid too much stress :) But that's just what I would do.

If you. plan to take those core classes, remember to plan out these classes and your study times. Most importantly, make sure you have time to relax and take care of yourself.

I would advice you to space out the classes over the quarters

Hey! In my opinion, I wouldn't take all stem classes in a single quarter. While it may be tempting to get things over with and load up your schedule, make sure you are going to have time for your assignments and your self, first and foremost. If you do decide to take all of this though, I wish you luck!!

Hi!

In my opinion, it sounds like you are taking on way too much. I heard Winter Quarter is really hard and depressing in and of itself, so I wouldn’t push yourself too hard.

Hope this helps!

Remember that you can take BL later on, you don't have to take it at the same time as 14B! I'm taking LS23L, 14B, and physics 5A next quarter, and that's going to be more than enough. Pace yourself! :-)

Hi!! I would personally try to space out those classes just a little. A method I found that works best for me and most students here is two stem courses and 1-2 other courses :)

I highly highly recommend spacing it out and supplementing hard stem classes with a GE. I'm a second-year student and took mostly GE my first year, and now I have no choice but to take hard stem classes together, which is not fun!

Also, especially if you are a freshman, use your first year to explore clubs, extracurriculars, campus life, etc etc.

That seems like a lot of high course load classes. You want to think of your own mental health, too.

I agree with everyone who has posted before! It varies from person to person, but this seems like a really homework and study focused course load that could be overwhelming at times. If fall quarter wasn't too bad, and you think you can handle more then go for it, but honestly I would take less for the sake of possible burnout.
