There was a question asking for the electron configuration of Bi. I thought we only had to know the s, p, d orbitals in terms of writing electron configuration. And I remembering writing it without the f orbital; however, the correct answer does include the f orbital ([Xe] 4f14 5d10 6s2 6p3). I am a bit confused since I remember we were told that we won't be tested on the f orbital...

Hi, I saw Dr. Lavelle respond to a similar post saying that he said we wouldn't be tested on the f-block elements, not f-orbitals.
