Grades

Postby Angela Grant 1D » Wed Nov 14, 2018 3:54 pm

Does anyone know how the grading scale works for Dr. Lavelle's class? Is it on a curve or does each letter grade correspond to a specific and fixed percentage range?

He uses the class average score in order to determine final grades. I hope this helped.

If he does curve it, it will only help your grade. I don't think this class will be curved by much though.

My RA said that last year Dr. Lavelle set the average as a B and went from there.

The syllabus says the class isn't curved, but I believe Dr. Lavelle may use a slight curve once all the scores are in.

I believe that any curve (which would only serve to help, not hurt, your grade) applied will only be determined at the end of the quarter based on the final class average. But it won't be curved in the sense that x % of the class gets A's, x % gets B's and so on.
