I know it's still weeks away but I was wondering, does anyone know about the format of the midterm? Is it comparable to Test 1 but just longer in length? What types of questions will be on it and which units does it cover?

I am not exactly sure what units will be covered on the midterm, but anything we have learned or have gone over/will go over in class before the midterm I would say is fair game for a test question. From what I've heard, the midterm is similar in structure to our test, but with multiple different parts to each question that could involve solving for a number and/or explaining a concept/why this is the answer. It is definitely longer in length, which is why we have two hours to take the test as opposed to 50 minutes.

I don't know the format of the midterm, but I'm pretty sure it will be like Test 1 where you have to show your calculations. I know for a fact it will be longer than Test 1 since it is a midterm and it will cover what we are learning in Quantum and what we are learned in the beginning.

Does anyone know if there will be mutiple choice? Or will it solely be problems?

I think it's pretty likely that there won't be any multiple choice questions.

The midterm will be Wednesday, November 6th from 6-8 pm. As for the format, I'd recommend looking at past exams.

Is there a location set for the day of the test or will we be most likely taking it with our TA in a different room?

On Lavelle’s website there’s a midterm subheader lower on the page that directs where students go to take their midterm based on last name and lecture. As for the test, the document from the midterm subheader said the test is 120 minutes, 8 questions. The document elaborates a bit further.

Where is the midterm located? Will that be announced closer to the midterm date?

I haven't heard anything about the midterm location yet so I assume it will be announced closer to the date!

The location of the midterm is posted on Lavelle's website under the tab "Midterm Review Session and Rooms". It depends on last name and lecture time/date.
