Re: Test #2
Maybe we should ask Dr. Lavelle on Wednesday during the lecture, the test is coming up and I want to start preparing for it.
Re: Test #2
My best guess would be all the material after the midterm up until this Friday's lecture, at least that's how it went for the first test. But I'm sure lavelle will mention it at some point this week, but if not, then our TAs I think will know by the end of this week. So we can ask them.

Re: Test #2
Past students said the test contained periodic trends, lewis dot, and radicals, but I am unsure if it is the same this year. Please, someone clarify which homework sections this test will cover. Thank you!!

Re: Test #2
I think that it is the material that we have covered since the midterm, but I am unsure since we have not covered that much.

Re: Test #2
Do you think it will also have some information from the midterm as well? Or only new untested topics?

I don't think so, but we should know the basics from the past materials, such as drawing lewis structures.

Re: Test #2
Well my discussion is on Wednesday and I'm really nervous....can someone please post specific textbook sections we should study for the test?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Test #2
I'm pretty sure the test doesn't have anything from the midterm. It will most likely focus on polarity, IMFs, VSEPR, and then else everything we cover until the test.

Re: Test #2
Correct, it will be on IMF'S, VESPR, and the rest of bonding that was not covered on the midterm.

Have we covered IMF in class yet? what section in textbook is it?

He is also including Sigma and Pi bonds on the test which he is going over during Monday's lecture

Re: Test #2
Hi,
I think test 2 will cover the VSEPR model, shapes, polar/nonpolar, and strengths of repulsion.

My TA said it will be covering outline 4, just the topics we started learning after our midterm.

Re: Test #2
didn't he say that a little bit of the end of the content from the midterm would be covered on the test as well?

Re: Test #2
Dr. Lavelle just clarified in class today that test #2 will cover everything since the midterm: VSEPR, intermolecular forces, pi and sigma bonding, ionic vs covalent, and polarity. No hybridization will be on this test! Hope this helps!
Re: Test #2
So do we technically need to do chapters 2D, 2E, and 2F, since the midterm was up until 2D right?

Does anyone know up to which bullet point from Outline 4 (https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... ucture.pdf) the test will cover?
