Final Studying

Has anyone began reviewing for the final? If so, what are you doing to slowly prepare?

Based on how the midterm was, I'll be going over each component of the equations and how you would go about finding missing parts and whatever the question is asking for. And then doing as many of the homework problems as possible.

I go to the step up sessions every week in Covel so that way I can review the past week's topics and make sure I fully understand it!

I'm going to do more practice problems. I hear that the step-up sessions are really helpful, so I might start going to those as well.

Based on the midterm, I would review and practice concepts that I am less confident in to reinforce those topics, and as for material that was covered after the midterm, I would make sure that I can fully grasp the conceptual base of the topic and can apply it to practice problems.

I am starting to go through a lot of the practice problems in the textbook to get practice with a lot of the older topics we've covered! I am also reviewing the 2 exams we've had so far to see which topics I struggle in the most and am planning to go to step-up sessions and office hours to make sure I fully grasp these concepts before the final.

I think I'll start practicing by going over the midterm solutions until I understand the concepts they cover.

I've also looked at finals from the previous years to have an idea of how the final will be different from the midterm. I think that'd be helpful for you too!

As this class progresses, I'm seeing more and more students succeed depending on the homework problems they expose themselves to. So for the final, I plan to work on many different problems! Also, something that gave me trouble (among many others) during the midterm, were solving problems given only one piece of the equation and knowing exactly how to maneuver each equation, perhaps even connecting it to other equations, in order to solve for another component. So, I think also practicing solving for specific components, like wavelength given the work function (LOL) would help as well.

I've been reviewing the midterm and looking at concepts I didn't fully understand. I'm also doing problems in the textbook since some of the questions may be on the final.

I've been reviewing questions and correcting the questions I did wrong on the midterm and Test 1 as well as reviewing homework questions from the textbook.

Does anyone know if professor Lavelle has sent out the dates for reviews session for the final?

I plan on doing the homework questions, reviewing the midterm, and looking at past final tests if they are available.

I plan to go through all of the problems I was confused on or did wrong on the homework, midterm, and tests.

I think I'll go over the midterm and tests, and understand what I did wrong. I'm going to start going to more peer learning sessions to get some tips from the UAs and TAs.
