Extra Credit?

Postby CNourian2H » Tue Nov 12, 2019 12:59 pm

I'm pretty sure Dr. Lavelle doesn't offer any extra credit or other opportunities to boost up your grade, but I just wanted to make sure on Chem Community. Thanks!

Topics on Test 2

Postby CNourian2H » Tue Nov 12, 2019 1:00 pm

Hey guys! Does anyone know the full range of topics covered on Test 2? I know it is coming up next week starting the 19th but I am unsure what exactly is on it.

From rereading the syllabus, Dr. Lavelle doesn't seem to have any extra credit. Your final grade should be based on the weekly homework, the two tests, the weekly chemistry community, the midterm, and the final. I would just focus on getting all the points you can from these catergories!

I don't think Test 2 topics have been confirmed by any of the TA's nor by Dr. Lavelle just yet. I'm assuming it would cover the rest of Outline 3 (what wasn't on the midterm) and then Outline 4 (Molecular Shape and Structure). Essentially, it should cover everything we go over in lectures that were after the midterm.

Test 2 should cover topics ranging from Lewis structures, intermolecular forces, and the VSEPR Model. Hopefully I'm not missing anything!

In lecture today, Dr. Lavelle also said that sigma and pi bonds will also be on the test. He will cover them first thing in Monday's lecture.

My TA said that Test 2 will be covering Outline 4
