Class Grading

Postby Emily Vainberg 1D » Sat Nov 16, 2019 12:57 pm

Does anyone know if he scales the class at the end of the quarter? Or do you have to get 465/500 points to get a solid A in the class?

I think it might depend on how the class does overall. He might look at the average, and if it's bad he might scale grades a little differently.

according to the syllabus "Each test and exam has a total score but is not assigned a grade. Only at the end of the class when the class average score (out of 500 points) is known are final grades assigned. This class does not use a curve".

Essentially, 465/500 will guarantee you a solid A in this class, but having a lower score does not eliminate the potential of getting an A at the end of the quarter.
