Test 2 Length

Postby Kimberly Bauer 4E » Sun Nov 17, 2019 3:58 pm

How many questions are on test 2 and what topics will be covered aside from polarity, IMFS, VSEPR, and Sigma and Pi bonds? Is it mostly conceptual compared to Test1 and the midterm?

From what I heard, the tests are typically straight forward so I would say less conceptual questions and more testing you if you know the content being taught. For example, give the structure and bond angle of CH4

sigma and pi bonds?

We learned about them today (11/18) in lecture (:

Just to make sure, hybridization is not on the test right?

I think I remember my TA saying that it's going to have 7 or 8 questions like test 1.

Yep. There will be no hybridization on Test 2. That will only be on the final.

My TA told me the study VSEPR, how bond dipole moments are used to determine polarity, why lone pairs are more likely to be found in certain places and how that placement affects bonding in an atom, intermolecular forces with cations and anions, and sigma and pi bonds. I believe test two is the same length as the first one.

Why are lone pairs more likely to be found in certain places?
