Posting on Chemistry Community

Postby Jaclyn Dang 3B » Tue Oct 06, 2020 8:18 am

Does anybody know where in the syllabus or class website it states how many times we need to post on chemistry community?

We need to post 5 times per week every week to get the full 50 participation points. This information can be found on the second page of the syllabus under the grading section, or, if you want more detail, under the Weekly Online Discussion link on Dr. Lavelle's website.

Here's the link to the weekly discussion info paper: https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... ussion.pdf

(sorry, I don't know how links work in here)

It's briefly mentioned in the syllabus, but not described. Professor Lavelle gives more detail in the pdf on his website called "Weekly Online Discussion" under "Course Materials" on your class page.

I've linked it here: https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... ussion.pdf

I believe the syllabus says that for participation points, we have to post 5 posts/replies per week for a total of 50 points for the quarter. Someone in the GroupMe said that the points for the week are due each Sunday at midnight.

His class website has a section called "Weekly Online Discussion," which talks about Chem Community. You have to post at least 5 times a week. You can obviously post more but the max points you can get in one week are 5 points.

We need to reply 5 times a week, which adds up to 50 points at the end of the quarter for a total of 50 points.
