Midterm scratch work

Postby Lea Ozdere 2G » Sun Oct 25, 2020 6:08 pm

Do we need to submit our work anywhere for the midterm or is it just answering the multiple choice? If it's just multiple choice I'm assuming no partial credit then?

You can use a blank piece of paper to do your work, but my TA said you do not have to submit it! And yes, the exam will be multiple choice, likely with no partial credit.

I'm assuming you would just have to show your TA both sides of your extra scratch paper to make sure its blank. There will be no partial credit since the format of the exam is going to be shorter questions instead of having multiple parts to each question to accommodate for partial credit.

We're going to be allowed to have multiple empty sheets of paper for scratch work, right? I feel like just one wouldn't suffice for me :(

I believe so my TA said that as long as we show that our scratch paper is blank before the test starts we can have as many as we think we'll need.

From my understanding, the test is multiple choice but there will be partial credit. Some answers will get partial credit based on what you had to do to get to that point

In Dr. Lavelle's email he said that we can write on the front and back of the two sheets he gave us (Constants and Equations & Periodic Table sheets) for rough work and show our TAs that both sides are blank. I'm assuming, as everyone else said, that we can use more sheets as long as we show our TA that it's blank before we start our test.
I don't believe our mics have to be on. I think we just have to show our workspace on zoom for our TA to monitor.

What will happen in a situation where I don't know how to solve a specific problem, but get select the correct answer? Will there be a steep penalty?
