FINAL EXAM QUESTIONS

Postby Rylee Mangan 1K » Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:10 pm

Hi! Trying to clarify whether ALL or just some of the final exam questions will come from the textbook problems on the outlines. I have been hearing different things so I am hoping to clear it up. Thanks!

Hi, I asked my TA about this in discussion. They said some will come from the textbook, but not necessarily all of them.

I also heard a TA say that textbook problems will be most helpful in preparation for the final!

I heard that some of the questions will come from the final, but I believe most (if not, all) will be derived from the textbook problems. I would recommend working through every single textbook problem and ensuring that you understand how to go about answering it, and I think you will be set for the final exam. Also, don't discount the importance of reading each section in the textbook. If you don't have enough time to thoroughly read it, then at least skim it or read the quick summaries at the bottom of each section.

Hi! As stated above, I'm pretty sure only some will be from the textbook problems, but the rest will most likely be similar.

I believe one of the TA's in their review session said most of the questions would be from the textbook or derived from the textbook, but that doesn't mean every single problem will be from it.

I think only some will be, but from the last midterms, the other remaining questions were modeled after homework questions, so doing them regardless will be helpful!

I noticed in the two midterms we've completed that most questions are, indeed, modeled on the homework questions. If you do those, you'll be set for sure.

Doing the textbook problems have been the most helpful thing I've done for each midterm! I've found textbook questions with the exact same values used in the midterms, so I'm pretty sure most of the questions in the final will be based off of textbook questions if not directly taken from the textbook!

I've heard similar stuff from my TA, seems like looking at textbook problems will really help for the final.

I do not believe all the questions would come from the textbook but a good majority will which is why they are encouraging us to look over the textbook problems when studying. Good luck studying!

Not sure if it's all, but I've definitely found that on our midterms some questions were taken verbatim from the textbook so it probably helps to do all the practice problems.

I am not sure, but I would still recommend to complete as many of the textbook problems that you can. They are great practice and you might stumble upon a few on the final. Good luck!!!

I think the text book has more relevant questions that will probably show up on the exam. I would say do as many text book problems as you can to ensure you will know how to do them if you encounter them on the final.

Many of the questions will be from the textbook, but there will still be some that aren't. The textbook questions should be a good indicator of your readiness!

I wouldn't be surprised if not too many questions from homework are on the final, so I suggest focusing more on the type of problems as opposed to specific ones from the textbook.

Based on the midterms and final we took in 14A, I think it's definitely a good idea to do the textbook problems listed on each outline. Rather than focusing on memorizing specific problems, I suggest doing multiple so that you know how to approach any type of problem that may be thrown at you on the exam.

A lot of reviews that I've read on Bruinwalk have said that there are always some textbook questions on the final, and they all suggested doing all of the textbook problems for extra practice.

I feel like the sapling homework includes more basic questions and are easier than the textbook problems. And the exams are like the mix of the two

I believe some will come from the textbooks. However, I think we can expect all of them to be similar to the textbook problems or the sapling problems .

Not all of them but I think some of them come directly from the textbook, and the rest are at least similar.

Based on past experience with Chem 14A, there is probably going to be some problems from the textbook, but the majority will not be directly from the textbook. That being said, doing textbook problems are still a really good way to study for the final.
