will the midterm only test us on the acids and bases content that we learned in 14B or will we also be tested on the acids and bases content from last quarter in 14A?

We will only be tested on 14B material but a lot of that builds on from basic 14A knowledge. Knowing 14A material will only help you/prepare you more

I think we are expected to know a lot of 14A acid-base content (like strong acids and bases, identifying acids and bases, etc.). It seems like you need to use a lot of this foundational information to do the 14B problems.

The acids and bases content from 14A basically is a foundation for what we are learning in 14B right now so it would just strengthen your knowledge if you knew the basics of acids and bases from 14A.

The acids and bases we learned in 14A are those typically suggested to memorize and have a solid understanding of. I would say that knowing the more common ones can only help you!

While I am not positive, I would assume after today's lecture that we are responsible for knowing weak vs strong acids and bases as the calculations depend on knowing whether or not an acid or base is fully dissociated. I would probably review the list of strong acids and bases and know concepts like what anions affect pH of a solution and that Group 1 and 2 cations do not affect pH.

I believe that we would be tested on the content of acids and bases learned in 14B but the content does build on what we learned in 14A so we would just need to have an overall general idea of what was covered in 14A.
