I like to handwrite my notes, especially if there are a lot of calculations involved. If you have an iPad, I would definitely recommend using GoodNotes! I used to try squeezing my notes onto a certain number of pages to limit my paper usage, but after using an iPad, I started spacing out each line of notes and using different colors, making it so much easier to read. I think typing out notes is better if you are noting down conceptual information, since it is faster and very organized.

Handwriting is my go-to, I am simply not tech-savvy enough to do e-notes even though the ones people take on iPad look really nice. My notes just consist of the foundations and outlines of concepts since I keep practice problems in a separate notebook. I go to my notes for reviewing concepts and equations.

I typically like to type my notes because I feel like it's easier to save and refer to them later but for this class I hand wrote my notes because of all of the math and graphs.

Yeah lots of studies showing that handwriting notes causes much greater remembrance of the concepts, but I have tried both and typing is much faster and for some people like me with chicken scratch handwriting much more legible.

I usually take notes of the lectures first and then take notes from the textbook. I feel like reading the information just cements the ideas and topics we learned in the lecture. From there, I write on note cards any information that I might need to remember and make an outline with answers and solutions.

Hand-written notes are my best friend. Whenever I study, I just look back at the things I've starred or underlined and boom. I got all my review right there for me.

handwriting on my iPad works well for me to organize everything. I always copy down Dr. Lavelle's slides and also added some quotes.

I went to a paperless high school and have been using OneNote since. I really like that I still get to handwrite my notes and my notes on the iPad and have it be sync'ed to my laptop as well.

I know that a lot of people take notes online but I always hand write my notes for class. It helps me remember because it forces me to focus more on what I'm writing, without letting my mind drift. It also allows me to draw out diagrams and charts by hand, which helps me remember them as well.

I like handwriting my notes because I feel like there's more flexibility with diagrams and notations and what not. Also, it helps me keep everything together so I can use it later if I take higher level chemistry or need it for future standardized tests.

I'm definitely a visual learner so writing out my notes definitely helps me retain info. Typed notes are cool as well but writing has worked for me thus far so I stick to it.

For anyone who has an iPad and wants to take notes on there, I recommend the app CollaNote. It is a FREE app and was created by a college student who has created it to suit all of a student's needs. It is easy to use and easy to organize files within folders. You can even create folders within folders which I have done for each topic within 14A. The simple design of the app is highly functional and allows me to focus more on course content during lectures rather than fussing with my notes.

A note-taking strategy I want to start implementing this school year is to only write down what information you need. I will try to explain this better. In the past, I wasn't active listening during lectures because I was rushing to take notes on the PowerPoint itself. I now am aware of what information the professor is highlighting from the slide displayed and write this down as well as any additional information that is brought up. Only write down what you don't know. No sense in wasting time writing notes on a topic that already makes sense to you.

I find handwritten notes to be the most helpful! It helps me remember things easier, it's easier to write formulas and stuff, and also when reviewing before an exam it's super effective for me to take a highlighter and emphasize things that I think are important!

Handwriting my notes always works best for me! Something I've found very useful is going back through my notes, finding the most important concepts (e.x. Conservation of Mass), and typing a brief explanation of it up for reference.

For me, handwritten notes are the most beneficial for comprehending and retaining the information taught in lectures. I try to write down notes during class, rewatch the course in my free time, and then jot down any ideas or notes that help connect concepts or clarify materials for me. Going back and tweaking my notes to add clarification helps me understand why I am doing what I am doing and how.

I've been using a tablet/pen to take all my notes- it helps me to visualize certain things when it's easy to slap in pictures from slides or models next to the notes I'm taking.

I have been taking handwritten notes, which is the most effective way (for me) to study math, chem, or any subject that requires work to solve problems. If I had an iPad it would definitely make things a lot easier!

I personally prefer handwriting out my notes. I feel that for chem, it helps to not be limited to only typing on a computer, it's nice to be able to write out diagrams and equations with symbols. I also like that I can do color coding and highlighting easily with handwritten notes.

My preferred method of notetaking is by hand because that way I can draw diagrams better. Also, I feel like since it takes more time and effort to handwrite than typing and pressing buttons, it is easier to absorb the material.

I find handwriting notes more effective that way when it comes to writing down equations you don’t have to worry about formatting stuff like exponents or finding obscure symbols that are usually used. Annotating on diagrams can also be helpful. If you have an iPad apps like Notability or Goodnotes can be helpful cause you can search up things in your own handwriting and import diagrams to annotate them.

When it comes to taking notes, I write notes on my iPad using the app called Good Notes. I also use notability and record the lectures so that I can look back and see when i wrote the notes as the professor was speaking.

I personally always hand write all of my notes because I am able to retain more information that way. I also use Google Docs after I am done handwriting out all my notes to get the main ideas down so I can use that to refer to while I am studying. I also know that it has been proven that writing down something allows you to retain more information that typing something up 10 times.

Personally, I find it really useful typing notes as sometimes it may be difficult to handwrite quickly enough. If there are visuals, I usually look up images on Google and paste them into my notes, but it's definitely handy to keep your notebook by your side in case you need to draw something.

I handwrite notes on GoodNotes. It's a great app if you're using an iPad to take notes. It's also helpful to write notes instead of typing so you don't have to spend too much time in class looking for symbols/creating superscripts or subscripts.

The best thing for me to do for notes is writing down the slides, but also making sure that you are listening to what Dr. Lavelle is saying because sometimes he can explain the content better than what he has written down in the slides.

I personally like handwriting my notes, but I do it on my iPad. I use the app Notability and I like how I am able to organize my notes into different subjects as well as categorize them based on if they are lecture notes, discussion notes, practice questions, homework notes, etc. This allows me to be organized while still getting to keep my notes all in one place!
