Midterm 1

What outlines will we be tested on for midterm 1? I know so far we have covered chemical equilibrium and acid and base equilibria. I was wondering if thermochemistry and thermodynamics will be covered in midterm 1.

Outline 1 and 2 are going to be on the midterm. I think whether outline 3 is going to be on the midterm depends on how far we get. Hope this helps!

I believe outline 3 will be on the midterm as he said in an email on Monday, January 18th that we will be covering what sounds like all of the thermochemistry and first law of thermodynamics unit outlined in the syllabus.

Outline 1 and 2 will definitely be on the first midterm, but Outline 3 may not be in its entirety. I'm assuming that we will get more clarification from Lavelle on how much of Outline 3 is on our Midterm based on our progress.

Like others have said, outlines 1 and 2 will definitely be on the midterm. I feel like only sections 4D.3, 4D.4, 4D.5, and 4E.3 from outline 3 will be on MT1 because those are the sections Dr. Lavelle said that we'll be covering this week in his email. In Chem 14A, I think Dr. Lavelle usually gave us a week between when we completed all the topics that would be on the midterm and the actual testing date. I'm sure that Dr. Lavelle will send us more information on what outlines exactly are on MT1 later this week though!

Hi, great question! I agree with others on this; Outlines 1 and 2 will be on MT1, and I am sure Dr. Lavelle will send information very soon about how much of Outline 3 will be included as well. Good luck studying this week!
