The Tin Drum is bit of a long and complicated reading, but the story itself along with the plot is amazing! Highly recommend

Re: Book Recommendations
Hi there! All my favorites are really just all those fiction books that we all read in elementary school haha. I find rereading all of the old faves is really relaxing, like the Percy Jackson series, or the Hunger Games trilogy. Reminds me of the good ol' days :')

Re: Book Recommendations
I recently finished Circe by Madeline Miller and I loved it! She portrays Circe in an empathetic light, as the book goes through many classic greek myths in her perspective. If it weren't for school and other responsibilities, I would've read it in an entire day!

If you're into reading thrillers, The Night Bird by Brian Freeman was pretty exciting and adrenaline inducing for a succinct novel.

One of my favorite books is The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen!! I definitely recommend it; it was one of the most impactful reads I've had. Others would be Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse and On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong.

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde is a nice read if you’re into books that discuss morality and the such.
Re: Book Recommendations

The Count of Montecristo is a must-read if you like a lot of drama in your books. It's all about revenge! I have only read the abridged version in my English class because it was so long.

I picked up a new book recently called "Anxious People." I haven't finished it yet but the style so far is pretty interesting and it was a bestseller so I think it's worth a read.

If you're into science fiction, my favorites are The Martian and World War Z. Both fantastic and explore lots of complicated points.
Re: Book Recommendations
I'm reading Still Life With Crows right now and it's pretty good. But it's about crime (murder) so if you're squeamish I wouldn't be too keen on going for this one.

I've read the Selection Series so many times and love it more and more each time. Definitely recommend! It's kind of like a cross between The Bachelorette and Hunger Games.

If you like greek mythology, Song of Achilles and Circe are both very good, they are retellings of greek mythological stories by Madeline Miller!
Re: Book Recommendations
I remember the days when I had time to read, those were good times.
But yes some timeless classics I'd recommend: The Outsiders (greasers vs preps), Watershipdown (action adventure w/ rabbits), & Ender's Game (military tactics, xenophobia, and a child prodigy)
Fun Reads: Aurora Cycle Series (comedic sci-fci action adventure), Axioms End (first contact with aliens), & The Lunar Chronicles (sci-fi retelling of all your favorite fairytales)
Worlds to get lost in: The Firebringer Trilogy (hero's cycle but with unicorns), the Warrior Cats Series (feral cats & warring clans), The Golden Compass (inerdimensional travel, alternate universes, & armored polar bears)
Cerebral reads: Felidae (cat detective solves murders, defines morality & discovers the horrors of eugenics, weird but really good) & H.P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos (cosmic horror & existentialism)
I probably gave you whiplash from all the genre switching but hopefully theres something in there for all of you! Happy reading ya'll

I love Harry Potter! I really recommend reading the books if you've only watched the movies!
Re: Book Recommendations
Samurai's Garden by Gail Tsukiyama and any other Japanese literature just hits different for me. The tone, the setting, and the way characters are portrayed just feels so humane and real. Definitely recommend!

My all-time favorite book is actually The Giver by Louis Lowry. I 100% recommend this book. I also highly recommend Flowers to Algernon because that is the only book that has made me full-on cry.

The Book Thief is so amazing so definitely recommend if you haven't read it yet. For a series, I would recommend A Study in Charlotte. It is part of a series and is really just like a quick fun time haha. It has to do with the descendants of Sherlock and John Watson which makes it pretty cool

Re: Book Recommendations
Wondering if anyone has read novels by Haruki Murakami? My brother loves his book such as Kafka on the Shore... curious if anyone else would recommend.
