grades
Hi, so I know that the minimum to pass with a C- is 50% but I was wondering, does anyone know what the grade scale is after that?

Re: grades
I was also wondering that because it was not on the syllabus, but usually classes follow this system:
97 and up A+
93 to < 97 A
90 to < 93 A-
87 to < 90 B+
83 to < 87 B
80 to < 83 B-
77 to < 80 C+
73 to < 77 C
70 to < 73 C-
67 to < 70 D+
63 to < 67 D
60 to < 63 D-
< 60 F
97 and up A+
93 to < 97 A
90 to < 93 A-
87 to < 90 B+
83 to < 87 B
80 to < 83 B-
77 to < 80 C+
73 to < 77 C
70 to < 73 C-
67 to < 70 D+
63 to < 67 D
60 to < 63 D-
< 60 F

Re: grades
If I remember correctly last quarter Dr. Lavelle curved chem 14a by 1% if that helps at all.
Re: grades
Quick maths you know. See what you have now add up all the points plus any future points thoughts. subtract said amount from 200 if whats left is + then you need that many points on the final. If - Its all clear

Yeah this is correct but for this class, I believe 50%-70% is a C- and anything lower is failing
Re: grades
I believe it should be
97+ A+
93 to < 97 A
90 to < 93 A-
87 to < 90 B+
83 to < 87 B
80 to < 83 B-
77 to < 80 C+
73 to < 77 C
70 to < 50 C-
50 and below is a Failing grade
97+ A+
93 to < 97 A
90 to < 93 A-
87 to < 90 B+
83 to < 87 B
80 to < 83 B-
77 to < 80 C+
73 to < 77 C
70 to < 50 C-
50 and below is a Failing grade

Re: grades
Agreed with the above. Normal scaling for A (- at 90, + at 97), B, and C extends down to at least 50% of the class (need 200 points in total).
