ICE BOX Enjoyers
Anybody else a fan of the ICE box method? This is by no means an effort to get a point for the week, but I just wanted to see if others appreciate this strategy as much as I do. I couldn't imagine a chemistry class like this without it : )

tbh i find it too much effort to ever write down a box lmao; it works in my head but I think it can be helpful to follow the process

I enjoy them. I think they are a good tool for helping me visualize the concept of a problem, and sometimes they can kind of feel like solving a little puzzle, which is kinda fun.

Yeah, I surprisingly like them! They make me feel like I'm actually doing something and help me organize my work.

I quite like the ICE BOX method because it helps keep my work organized and I'm able to see what I still need to solve for. I understand that it might not be for everyone but it really helps me visualize the problem.

Re: ICE BOX Enjoyers
For visual learners like me the ice box is super useful. Filling in the blanks is like a little game, which makes the endless chemistry problems a bit more enjoyable. One tip for the ice box is that you can make a "reverse" ice box too! I saw someone post about this a week ago. Essentially, if you do not know initial concentrations and are given the Ka/Kb/Kc and equilibrium concentrations, you can use the opposite logic of usual to solve for the initial concentrations using the ice box. Very good at keeping you from getting confused, especially on problems that flip the logic like on the Week 2 Achieve Homework.

I love using them so much and it just helps lay out the problem and the steps so easily. You can see exactly what needs to be done after.

yes!! it helps me process my thoughts and helps me remember what value belongs to what and the process on how it changes.

I love it too, especially when you make the table all neat, it’s so aesthetic and satisfying!

I love the ICE BOX. It is an incredible invention. Whoever decided to put the numbers in a nice little box slayed tremendously. It helps my brain interpret the information, overall a very good time.

It's honestly a lot of fun!! It's cool seeing it all add up and the math work out, especially when it's written really neatly. I've also always been a fan of doing Punnett squares too, so maybe that's related!
