How does the photoelectric effect show the conservation of energy?

The photoelectric effect shows the conservation of energy because in that experiment, if the energy needed to remove an electron (work force, threshold energy) is exceeded, we see that energy has transformed into the kinetic energy the electron has as it shoots off the metal. Thus, the energy we put in to the metal exactly equals the energy coming out of the metal as it equals the energy required to remove the electron + whatever is leftover in the form of kinetic energy. We see that no energy is lost or created, thus following the law of the conservation of energy.

The photoelectric effect shows that energy is neither created nor destroyed by accounting for the energy put into the equation and the energy released from the equation.
