Equation for photoelectric effect

Hey everyone, just to confirm, there is an equation to calculate the photoelectric effect? If so what is it again? Thank you.

Hello, the energy of the photon can be calculated with the 'extra' energy of the electron the kinetic energy of the electron and the work function, the amount of light it takes to release 1 electron. Electron of photon = work function + kinetic energy of electron (1/2mv^2)

The photoelectric effect equation helps us calculate either the energy of the proton, the energy required to remove the electron, or the kinetic energy.

E(e-) - (work function)= .5mv^2
