Difference between work function and threshold energy

Postby Alyssa Bercero 3H » Wed Oct 25, 2023 11:07 am

I thought these to be relatively the same thing, but how are they different?

I believe they're almost the same thing, but threshold energy refers to the minimum frequency that is required to eject the electron whereas the work function is referring to the Energy required.

I think they’re the same thing. They both are referring to the amount of energy needed to remove an electron from an atom.
