Post-Assessment #16

Postby Andy Liao 1B » Fri Oct 13, 2017 2:25 pm

Problem:
When the energy per photon is equal to the energy required to remove an electron what is this energy called?
A. Binding energy
B. Threshold energy
C. Transition energy
D. Excitation energy
E. None of the above

I was wondering what the difference is between binding energy and threshold energy. I thought that both were the same and thus thought that this was a trick question. I chose E as my answer.
