Solar Panels

Postby Hongtao Yao » Sun Apr 15, 2018 10:26 pm

Does solar panels generate electricity because of the photoelectric effect or does it work by some other rule?

Solar panels do not exhibit photoelectric effect. Instead, the light is absorbed to create excitons, which give rise to charge separation and these charges are then utilized as energy.
