Difference between photon and particle?

Postby ElizabethP1L » Tue Apr 24, 2018 6:45 pm

Hey, everyone! As I was studying the photoelectric effect I was a bit confused on something. Can anyone explain the difference between a photon and a particle if there is one? Thanks in advance!

A photon is a packet of energy or light whereas a particle is a subatomic unit such as electron, neutrons and protons. Also, traditionally photons do not have masses whereas particles do.
