post assessment

Postby Maggie Doan 1I » Tue Oct 09, 2018 6:32 pm

In a photoelectric experiment light hits a metal surface and if the energy of the ________ light is ________ enough it causes electrons to be ejected from the metal surface.
A. outgoing, large

B. outgoing, small

C. incoming, large

D. incoming, small

E. None of the above

I know that the first blank is incoming light, but what does it mean by large or small? Is that referring to the frequency?

I think larger means higher frequency. Based on what I think, it should be C, but that is just what I think.

I agree that the answer should be C; light with a frequency higher than the threshold energy should be able to remove electrons
