Test #2

Postby michellebui_3L » Wed Oct 17, 2018 11:54 pm

For Test #2, would the test focus on the topics covered on the outline in week 2? (Ex: Photoelectric Effect, Atomic Spectra and the Bohr Frequency Condition, Wave Properties of Electrons and the De Broglie Equation, and Heisenberg Uncertainty Equation)

Everything listed under outline 2 will be on test 2 (so basically everything from the end of test 1 until now).

Is it going to cover Periodic Table trends even though we did not cover them in lecture?

Hi! I've heard that test two is only going to be on the things that we have learned in lecture. However, I'd prepare just in case because you never know when a curveball will be thrown!

I'm pretty sure Lavelle said that only what was covered up until Friday's lecture is going to be on the test

That's true. On Friday he mentioned that all the material from after the last test up until Friday's lecture will be on Test 2.

There's also a list on the 14a quantum world breakdown detailing everything you will need to know how to do for the test.

My TA specified that the following would be on the test: photoelectric effect, deBroglie and wavelength, Heisenberg uncertainty, atomic spectra, and quantum numbers. We won't need to know electron configurations or multi-electron systems.
