Visible Light Spectrum

Does the visible light spectrum range from 420nm-700nm?

yeah pretty much. Violet has the shortest wavelength, at around 380 nanometers, and red has the longest wavelength, at around 700 nanometers

I believe in lecture Dr. Lavelle said it is safe to assume the visible light spectrum range is from about 400 to 700nm.

Visible light spectrum differs from person to person based on their individual ability to see. But generally speaking, 400-700nm is about right.

Yes, basically from 400 nm to 700 nm, with violet being the shortest and red being the longest.

Yes, the typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nanometers with violent having the shortest wavelength and red having the longest in the visible spectrum. However, this is just the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we can see. Light also refers to all the other wavelengths on the EM spectrum.

Dr. Lavelle gave the values red = 700 nm and violet = 400 nm in class lecture. So I would assume these numbers to be pretty reliable.
