Question 1.33 (sixth edition)

I was wondering if we are supposed to use the answer we get from a) to solve b) or if we're supposed to approach the problem in a different way? Also I don't know how to go about c) either.


(b) No electrons are
emitted from the surface of the metal until the frequency of
the radiation reaches 2.50 " 1016 Hz. How much energy
is required to remove the electron from the metal surface?
(c) What is the wavelength of the radiation that caused
photoejection of the electron?

Hi!

So for b), since you have the frequency "v" you can calculate the energy E using E=hv.

For c), since you have the frequency "v" you can calculate the wavelength of the light "lambda" using C= lambda/wavelength x frequency
