Symbol N Subscript A

In example 1B.2, to get the energy of a photon/ mole, you are supposed to multiply N subscript A by the energy of a photon. Does that symbol stand for energy per mol of a photon because I'm not sure how cancelling the units would work?

The symbol N subscript A stands for the number of photons in 1 mol of photons (so, by definition, Avogadro's number of 6.02 * 10^23 photons). The example asks to find the total amount of energy in 1 mol of photons. So, we have to multiply the energy of a single photon by the total number of photons in 1 mol = N Subscript A = 6.02 * 10^23 photons.

I believe N subscript A refers to avagodro's number.
