In 1.0s, a 60 W bulb emits 11 J of energy in the form of infrared radiation (heat) of wavelength 1850 nm. What is the energy per photon of light emitted? How many photons of infrared radiation does the lamp generate in1.0s?

Since the wavelength of the light is 1850 nm, you can find energy per photon by using the equations E=hv and c=vλ to get the equation E=hc/λ. Plug in the wavelength, constants, and solve to get energy per photon. Since the answer is energy per photon and the bulb emits 11J of energy, divide 11J by # of J/photon in order to get the number of photons generated and emitted.

Use the wavelength and the equation c=(wavelengths)(frequency) to get frequency. Then use your frequency in E=hv to solve for E.
