Does the photoelectric effect work differently with diverse types of metals?

I believe the photoelectric effect works the same way but different metals have different threshold energies/energy required to remove an electron.

Yes, the effect systematically works the same, varying with the type of metal used in the experiment because if you change the metal the energy per photon needed to omit an electron (threshold energy) may change.
