Spectral Lines

Hey everyone,
I'm really confused... what are spectral lines? And do we know how to calculate them?

I believe spectral lines are just the energy levels image that Dr. Lavelle showed where there were lines ranging from n=1 to n=6. This was during the time he mentioned the Balmer and Lyman series.

Hi! Spectral lines are basically showing electron energy levels - each line represents an energy transition of an electron. Hope this helps!

Spectral lines represent the wavelength of the energy absorbed or emitted by an electron when it transitions from one energy level to another. The energy absorbed or emitted is equal to the difference in energy between the two levels that the electron transitions between, and you can use to solve for the wavelength (where the spectral line shows up on the spectrum).

Hi! Spectral lines show the emissions/absorptions of energy by electrons.
