Hi can someone help me solve this? I got the work function, but I don't understand how to do the second part. Thank you!

When a metal was exposed to photons at a frequency of 1.23×1015 s−1, electrons were emitted with a maximum kinetic energy of 3.70×10−19 J.
Calculate the work function, Φ, of this metal.
What is the maximum number of electrons that could be ejected from this metal by a burst of photons (at some other frequency) with a total energy of 4.61×10−7 J?

If Φ is the amount of joules required to remove 1 electron, just take the total energy of the photons that was given and divide it by the energy required to remove 1 electron (Φ), since one photon removes one electron. Hope this helps!

The work function that you found is equivalent to the amount of energy needed to eject an electron. That value is in joules per photon, so to solve for how many electrons are ejected, you would just divide the amount of energy of the photon burst (4.61×10−7 J) by the work function(remember the energy of the photon is equal to the energy of the electron ejected).
