Equipartisan Theorom

Hi,

For midterm 1, do we need to know the equipartisan theorem, and what rotational, translational, and vibrational energy is and what their formulas are? I wasn't sure if it was covered in lecture, but it's covered in pretty heavy detail in the textbook so I wanted to double check. Thanks!

Also - if it is necessary to know these terms, to what extent should we understand this?

Have we covered this theorem in lecture yet? I don't remember going over it so if my memory is correct I don't think it would be on the midterm.
