Waitlist for 14B during Winter 2024

Hello! I was wondering how the waitlist works? I know that a couple years ago, it was written that everyone gets accepted off the waitlist (I believe for both lecture and discussion?). Is this still true? Can I still enter the waitlist for my preferred lecture and discussion during second pass? I also read somewhere else that professors usually accept students off the waitlist during or after the second week of the quarter. Is that also what Dr. Lavelle does? Is it possible to get off the waitlist earlier and if one does get off the waitlist, what happens to the homework that was due before they joined the class? Can they make it up? Thank you!
