Homework 1
When is the first homework assignment due? I know they are usually due in discussion sections but is that also true for week 1?

Re: Homework 1
Since some sections are earlier in the week, week 1 homework is due to your ta at the end of lecture on Friday.

Re: Homework 1
Homework will be due Friday in lecture but for the weeks following it will be due in discussion sections. Remember for homework you get to choose your 5 problems to turn in and each week you can turn in problems from a section that is 'relevant' to what we are learning in class.

Re: Homework 1
I believe that the homework is graded for completion, but I am not completely sure. However, you can check your answers in the back of the book or by using the solution manual if you have it. I have been told that the homework is supposed to be for our own benefit, so I suppose the amount of effort you put in is up to you. Hope this helps!

Re: Homework 1
Last quarter our homework was graded for completion I am pretty sure.
Can someone please explain to me how to ask a question on Chem Community. I cannot figure it out. Thanks

Re: Homework 1
For asking a question on chemistry community, just select the "New Topic" tab in the top left corner. First go back to the main Chem 14B page, from there you should be able to select a topic in the tabs below, and when you do, the "New Topic" button in the corner should appear. Hope this helps!

Re: Homework 1
The first homework assignment is due on Friday (tomorrow) to your TA after lecture. All other homework assignments after week 1 are due in your discussion section.

It depends on your TA, last quarter my homework was graded on correctness.

Re: Homework 1
Most TAs correct HW based on correctness and completion. There is the answer solution book to check answers, and just make sure you do five problems a week.

It's really up to your TA. My TA grades for completeness because we have the right answers in the Solutions Manual but you should ask your TA if you're not sure.
