Will we get a distribution curve for the Test 1 results? I just got my test back from my TA today in Discussion but I would like to know my score in comparison to other students to know where I stand and where I should be focusing my efforts on.
As far as I know, Dr. Lavelle doesn't do curves on the tests, so seeing how you did in comparison to other students would be difficult. For the midterm and final, Dr. Lavelle let's us know the average class score, so you'll be able to get an idea of how well/poorly you did on those exams.
Like everyone else has said, there is no curve, but if it helps my TA said the average of her sections was around 36/50 for test 1, so I'm thinking the overall average is somewhere around there. I don't recommend comparing yourself to others as it can get really discouraging and everyone learns at a different pace, your grades don't define your intelligence, etc. lol, but if you're looking at it as a way to motivate yourself to study harder then by all means. Happy studying!
I guess Lavelle looks at everything at the end and establishes the grade scale. If it makes you feel any better though, I got less than a 50% on the first test, so if you got better than that I think you're doing okay lol. And if you're in the same boat I'm in, let's do our best!
