midterm format
I was wondering what the format for midterms are usually like? How many questions are there and is it all free-response or any multiple choice?

Re: midterm format
I think the Midterm will be about 8 questions and I don't believe there are any true or false. Most or all of it should be free response. Also, there will be multiple parts to each question with the topics ranging from, as he told us, chemical equilibria, up to Gibb's Free energy. Hope this helps!

Re: midterm format
Based on his midterm and final in Chem 14A, it will most likely all be free response.

Re: midterm format
Based on the exams from last quarter, the midterm will be all free-response and will probably have around 7-8 questions, each question consisting of multiple parts that relate to one another. Hope this helps and best of luck studying!

He only does free response questions which I like because you can get partial points

Re: midterm format
Based on past Lavelle midterms and finals, it will most likely be around 8 free response questions with each question having multiple parts to it.
Re: midterm format
Majority of the points will be solving for values but dispersed throughout are conceptual questions that require you to understand why you might be doing what you are doing in the problem. Possible conceptual questions could be which why the reaction shifts with equilibrium or what is an intensive property or not.

Re: midterm format
There are occasionally a few true or false or fill in the blank questions thrown in to the test, but the rest is all free response.
