ENDGAME Review Session
The title is called "ENDGAME" so that you can search "ENDGAME" and easily find this post!
We're in the endgame now. This is your graduating UA, Lyndon Bui, ready for my last ever UA session after three years of service. I am happy to present my packet of questions on Electrochem and Kinetics, since other topics were covered during the midterm review session.
Please complete these problems before my review session. My review session this quarter (W20) will be Friday, March 13, 6-9pm, in Moore 100.
I will go over each problem in detail during my review session. The answers, but not full solutions or work, will be posted here at this post after the review session. Any errors in the test will be posted below as well.

Hello everyone, thank you for your kind words. I was looking forward to this review session, but unfortunately it will have to be cancelled. Judging from Dr. Lavelle's email, I am sure you all will do well on the final, and I wish you the best with all of your future endeavors. Good luck, and have a wonderful and safe Spring Break!!

Thank you Lyndon for putting so much time into us. I’m not alone in saying that your weekly workshops, your packets, and your review sessions are probably the only reason I passed 14A and (hopefully!) pass 14B.
P.S. Endgame is a suitable name for replacing Gummy Worms

Will this review session still be held now that all classes are cancelled? Lyndon's sessions are normally the most helpful thing before the finals/midterms.

Since classes are canceled, will the session still be happening or is it going to be recorded on zoom/bruincast/an online alternative?
Re: ENDGAME Review Session
Thank you SO MUCH for gracing us with your review sessions even though you aren't being mandated nor paid to do so!!! I think I speak for everyone when I say I love you 3000 x 3000 x 3000 x 3000!!!
Also... will this review still be going on regarding the recent notification by Gene Block that classes will be cancelled?? I'm speaking in regards to the "all nonessential gatherings of 100+ people will be cancelled" statement that he said in the recent email. Don't get me wrong, I do believe this review session is ESSENTIAL but I am still curious about what is going on regarding the finals and reviews going forward.

Thank you Lyndon so much for your kindness and compassion when teaching chem 14A/B to us!! We didn't know it at the time, but we were all looking for someone to relate difficult concepts and share funny jokes during workshops. Keep working hard and we will always support you!

Thank you for being such an incredible, patient, and dedicated UA. I wouldn't have understood most of the topics we went through in class without your help. Thank you again for spending your free time helping freshmen navigate general chemistry. Good luck with the rest of your adventures!

Hey Lyndon! Thank you so much for all of your hard work this quarter. I've been using your worksheets to study since 14A and they are so helpful. You've put so much work into everything you do and I really appreciate it. I'm sad to see that the session is cancelled but I will definitely be using your worksheet to prepare. Thank you again for all of your help and good luck in all of your future endeavors! :)

Thank you so much Lyndon! Without your review sessions and your great worksheets, Chemistry 14A and B would have been so much worse. Because of the nature of the cancellations, will there be an answer key that will be posted?

For #2, I used the E=Eo - (0.05196/n)logQ equation and got 1.7x10^-6 M. Did anyone else get this?

For 5, why is the first SRP flipped? Shouldn't it be the cathode because it is the more positively charged one?

Good Question. Because of the context of the problem, we needed an equation that had HF as a reactant, dissociating. This is how we can eventually get a Ka. Because of this, we used the equations in a way that kept HF on the reactant side.

Re: ENDGAME Review Session
For number 7, when you flip the second one around, the E value becomes negative. Do you use this negative E value to calculate G? I thought you would still use the standard reduction potential.

Re: ENDGAME Review Session
For 1E, I thought increasing the concentration of Ag+ on the cathode side would increase the cell potential. In the Nernst equation for a concentration cell where Q=[anode]/[cathode], increasing the cathode concentration will decrease Q which makes the term more negative which means a more positive E cell right?

The wording of the question is a little tricky. The substance added precipitates Ag+, which means that it removes Ag+ ions from solution and turns it into Ag (s). This would decrease the concentration of Ag+ at the cathode.
